AARP Ageline (EBSCO) -- abstracts the literature of social gerontology as well as aging-related research from psychology, sociology, social work, economics, public policy, and the health sciences. It covers aging-related issues for professionals in aging services, health, business, law, and mental health. AgeLine also includes selected consumer content.

Access Medicine books and Harrison’s Online – The full Access Medicine package to which the FSU College of Medicine subscribes includes Harrison’s, as well as Hurst’s the Heart, Metabolic and Molecular Bases of Inherited Diseases, and the Lange series in the basic medical sciences and in the clinical sciences. Altogether, there are 43 electronic textbooks and reference books included in this package. Harrrison’s Online is the online version of the book, Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, and contains full text with all images, figure tables, graphics, etc. It has a complete table of contents which is linked and has a searchable index that is updated continuously. Full color atlases of cardiology, dermatology, microbiology, hematology, endoscopy, and others are included. It also has clinical trials information, as well as online pretests for board preparation with answers and explanations. PDA downloads of small selected sections are available.

ACP Journal Club - Contains articles from ACP Journal Club, produced by the American College of Physicians, and Evidence-Based Medicine, produced by the ACP and the British Medical Journal Group. Editors regularly review top clinical journals for articles that meet strict criteria for study design and clinical relevance. They write an abstract and commentary on each chosen article to describe its value for clinical practice.

CINAHL with Full Text* - provides indexing for 2,737 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 1,000,000 records dating back to 1982. Offering complete coverage of English-language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association, CINAHL with Full Text covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters.

DXplain - DXplain is a computer program designed to provide quick, easy access to a large database of signs, symptoms, and diagnoses, and to remind the user of disorders that might be associated with a set of clinical features. It includes a differential diagnosis generator that provides a ranked list of differential diagnoses based on signs and symptoms entered by the user. This resource is limited to use by faculty, students and staff of the College of Medicine as requirement for licensure by the producers of DXplain.

eMedicine - Has over 7,000 physician authors and editors who create thousands of peer-reviewed, disease specific articles. The e-Medicine resource is now publishing over 400 new review articles monthly. Each article incorporates 4 levels of physician peer-review. E-Medicine also includes over 100 useful medical tools and calculators, as well as a clinical image case, radiograph and ECG of the week, and over 30,000 images. E-Medicine has recently added PubMed searches that link to FSU full-text articles on all e-Medicine topics.

Essential Evidence Plus (formerly InfoRetriever) -- Essential Evidence Plus contineus to feature InfoPOEMs, the highly-regarded daily EBM content alerting service, and the robust EBM search application formerly known as InfoRetriever. The incorporation of two new content resources-EBM Guidelines and e-Essential Evidence-will greatly augment the existing product features and content and position the re-branded resource Essential Evidence Plus as a state-of-the-art content system facilitating EBM practice, increasing clinical efficiency at the point of care, and improving patient outcomes.
EBM Guidelines is produced by the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim and includes a concise, easy-to-use collection of more than 950 Practice Guidelines, more than 3,000 Evidence Summaries, and more than 1,000 images.

Food Science & Technology Abstracts* – FSTA specialist scientists monitor approximately 1800 journals and many other types of literature (books, conference proceedings, theses, patents, standards, legislation, etc.), published in over 40 languages, and select the items relevant to the food sector. They then condense each one into a short, highly informative abstract giving the key points and conclusions, and assign index terms. Coverage is from 1969 to the present. MD Consult - MD Consult is a one-stop virtual library to e-books, e-journals (via an enhanced MEDLINE interface), patient education handouts, medical news, drug information, and clinical guidelines. There are currently 115 full text reference books in MD Consult, over 90 full text current journal titles, and 50 Clinics. MD Consult has a companion resource called FirstConsult. PsyCritiques* - Combines a weekly release of book and film reviews with a searchable database. Starting with Volume 50 in January 2005, the database replaced the print journal Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books. The weekly electronic release offers major enhancements, very current reviews, and much more content.
In each weekly release, PsycCRITIQUES delivers approximately 18–20 reviews of psychological books, most from the current copyright year. Each release also includes a review of a popular film from a psychological perspective. Other content includes videos, comparative reviews, and the occasional retrospective review.

PsycINFO* - from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, technical reports and dissertations, from more than 2,100 international sources in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. Links to some full text are available, and the majority of the covered material is peer-reviewed.

PubMed - PubMed, is a service of the National Library of Medicine, which provides access to over 16 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. MEDLINE is the primary database used for getting to the subject content of articles in medicine. There are several ways to get to MEDLINE, including OVID, MD Consult and PubMed. PubMed links directly from the article reference to the full article for all electronic journals available at FSU. It is recommended that medical researchers begin with PubMed and make use of the full-text links and “related articles” feature of PubMed. Over 3,000 e-journals are accessible in full text via PubMed, linking users to 7.9 million full articles.

Web of Knowledge* - 1945 to the present. There are over 7,000 journal titles, cited reference searching, citations, and reference links in this scientific research database. The Web of Knowledge site includes several components: Web of Science, Current Contents Connect and Highly Cited.com. This is an essential tool for serious researchers because of the ability to connect references among articles and throughout the entire database. The CrossSearch tool allows searching across multiple ISI Web of Knowledge products and external collection databases such as PubMed, Agricola, and NTIS. It is difficult to understate the value of this tool. Limited number of simultaneous users.
